The Oklahoma State Cowboys might have missed the national championship game by losing to Iowa State in double OT, but they had reason to celebrate last week with a 41-38 overtime victory over Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl.
Nearly 70,000 fans attended the game, but hours before 6:30 kickoff a record-setting 30,000 fans were outside University of Phoenix Stadium at the two premier tailgate parties.
Oklahoma State and Stanford fans geared up for the game in the ultimate game-day atmosphere of College Football’s Biggest Party. The Stadium Club located within College Football’s Biggest Party offered fans an all-you-can-eat buffet, live entertainment and big-screen televisions. The Party also featured pep rallies, performances by the universities marching bands and cheerleaders, interactive games and a zip line.
I conquered my fear of the zip line and tried it, but I have to admit it is a lot higher when you get up there than it looks.
Both Oklahoma State and Stanford fans came out in strong numbers to show their support for their team. One thing they all seemed to all agree on was their love for the state of Arizona and the great weather for both the pregame activities and the Fiesta Bowl.
